Our personal mission as educators is threefold: to facilitate students in developing themselves into mentally and spiritually vital young people; to foster a culture of security, encouraging students to take chances, grow, and evolve, both as people and as musicians; and to use the study of vocal music to view the world and themselves from new perspectives, fostering a life-long love of music.
CONCERT TREBLE CHOIR
…is a choir for women in grades 9-12 who have never been in choir before, are just coming into high school from the intermediates, or who could benefit from further skill building in vocal production and/or music literacy. Members of this group are encouraged to participate in the All-State Choir process, Voice Lessons, and Solo & Ensemble Contest. They are required to prepare for the All-Region Concert Choir process.
CONCERT TENOR-BASS CHOIR
…is a choir for men building skills in the choral art in grades 9-12. Focus includes vocal training of the male changing voice, healthy vocal technique & music literacy. Members are encouraged to participate in the All-State Choir process, Voice Lessons, and Solo & Ensemble Contest. The are required to prepare for the All-Region Concert Choir process.
…is our flagship varsity level mixed ensemble; emphasis will be on advanced vocal, technical, musical, and sightreading skills, and the performance of high-level repertoire in concert and competition. Members of this choir are required to participate in the All-State Choir process, encouraged to take Voice Lessons, and participate in the Solo & Ensemble Contest.
…is an elite, vocal ensemble comprised of select singers, grades 10-12, based on advanced vocal technique, sightreading abilities, academic standing, performance skill, and commitment to a rigorous extra-curricular schedule. This group will perform for school functions, athletic events, community and corporate events, and will travel to the elementary and intermediate schools to serve as ambassadors of our school and program, and to mentor the next generation of Clear Lake Choir singers. Members of this ensemble are required to participate in the All-State Choir process, Voice Lessons, and Solo & Ensemble Contest.
